Admin Views
WordPress has 2 main views, The dashboard and Front-End View.
Top Bar
The black menu bar at the top of the screen is called the top bar. It has the WordPress logo on the left, and page specific actions to the right.
The button to the right of the wordpress logo is the toggle button. It lets you switch between the two site view modes. When you are in dashboard view it looks like a house and will let you switch to front end view. When you are in front end view it looks like a speed dial and will let you switch to the dashboard
Dashboard View
The main administrative back end view for a WordPress website is called the dashboard. The dashboard view lets you create new posts, edit existing posts, and manage other content types like Events and Documents. All of the content and site management actions you have access to are organized on the left part of the screen in the toolbar.
Front End View
The front end view lets you see the website the same way a visitor would see it. The top bar will provide different options depending on the page you are viewing. The easiest way to edit a page is to browse to it on the front end view and click edit page ( or event, document, etc ).
